Careers Seminar Series
In 2012, Performance Education is launching a new initiative aimed at helping graduates in IT or Accounting better understand their respective industries. Sessions will feature respected industry professionals who will share their own experiences of starting out in their professions and how they’ve progressed from those humble beginnings. Each session also features a key market update from a recruitment perspective, aimed at providing a clear view on the graduate employment market in each sector.
What job best suits your skill set? What other skills/qualifications are employers looking for? How to position my application so I get an interview? The answers to these questions, and more, will hopefully be uncovered through this exciting new series.

What Other Skills Does an Accountant Need
MYOB, QuickBooks and Excel are three of the most common other 'skills' accounting graduates feel they must have to land their first job. While knowledge and understanding of these software packages may be necessary, they are not the only skills needed to be successful as an accountant.
Explore topics such as; How does a technically proficient tax accountant explain his tax strategies to a client? How is an audit report prepared and communicated? Before all of that, what skills does an accountant need to have to win over a new client?
So if you’re keen to enhance your career prospects, join us on Tuesday 29 May for the next instalment of our Careers Seminar Series.
