Performance Education students come from all over the world, here are some of the students from the General English and Professional Business English class who have shared some of their experiences from the time they spent with Performance English.
Filip Brodan (Czech)
Course: Professional Business English – Advanced (Dec 2010 – Jan 2011)
Filip, who comes from Prague in the Czech Republic, has enjoyed his time at Performance English both academically and socially.
Filip’s small multi lingual Professional Business English class offered him many opportunities to practise his English in a broad range of situations. He was able to present his own real life business presentations to the class and receive feedback from his classmates and teachers.
Filip was active socially with his classmates who often met outside class to visit various restaurants and places of interest in Melbourne. Eating Korean food with Korean people was a new experience for Filip.
Filip’s favourite things about Performance English were the personal attitude, great classmates and great teachers.
This is what Filip said about his course.
“Performance English has a good location and with a small number of students in the class it is more personal in its work with students. It has a kind and friendly atmosphere.
My teachers were professional, friendly/open and sometimes funny which contributed to the good atmosphere.
I loved the themes from Business Benchmark in the curriculum and the practical examples from the internet.”
Sophie Boutges (French)
Course: General English & TOEIC Preparation – Intermediate (Nov – Dec 2010)
Sophie is French and has been traveling in Australia. She plans to return to France and is hoping to join Air France as a flight attendant. When she returns and goes through the application process for Air France, Sophie needs to sit a TOEIC test. One reason she chose Performance English was because she was able to join our two week part-time TOEIC preparation class. Sophie also wanted to improve her speaking and listening skills.
This is what Sophie said about her course.
“The staff at Performance English are very friendly and my teacher was always ready to help me and answer my questions. I liked the small group, the class times and the course book.
I am very happy.

Andrea Cucciniello (Italian)
Course: Professional Business English – Advanced (Oct 2010 – Jan 2011)
Andrea, who is from Milan in Italy, joined his business English class needing to refine his already high level of English and to become more familiar with business terminology and text types after which, he planned to look for work in business or marketing.
During his time at Performance English, Andrea refined his CV and had a number of job interviews. His teachers were able to help him with the presentation of his CV and with interview skills. He left Performance English and immediately started a job.

“I like the atmosphere in the school. The environment is very friendly and relaxed.
My teachers are both great. They answered all my questions and solved my doubts.
The variety of topics we have been through was good. We touched a lot of different subjects.”
Ilse Burlefinger (German)
Course: General English - Upper Elementary (Aug – Oct 2010)
Ilse came to Performance English with a small amount of survival English. She has moved to Australia from Germany with her family to live for the next four years. She wants to become more confident using English in day to day life and to improve all aspects of her English Language skills.
In her small general English class, Ilse was able to focus on the areas that were important to her and where she had the greatest needs.
This is what she said about her course.
“My time at Performance English school was short but now I can speak English. That is amazing because at the beginning I couldn’t speak English.
I like the personality of my teacher (Aleeda) because she has good energy all the time. And because her methodology is effective. She gave me a lot of opportunity to practice speaking and gave me grammar for homework. This helped me to become more confident very quickly in speaking English.
I found the curriculum very good because it was clear and easy to follow and practice. And had reading, writing, listening, speaking and grammar.”
